ABOUT MIKAIL AKAR

Mikail Akar is a contemporary artist from Cologne, Germany whose abstract artworks have garnered international acclaim. Mikail discovered his passion for painting at the age of four, even though he had no prior experience with art. His parents, who also had little knowledge of the art world, recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue his interest. Mikail taught himself everything he needed to know and was inspired by artists such as Gerhard Richter and Jean-Michel Basquiat during visits to exhibitions with his parents. The young artist from Cologne quickly gained international recognition for his talent. His multi-city series, “UNBELIEVABLE", has been showcased in several cities around the world, including Istanbul, Cologne, Vienna, Zurich, New York, and Miami. 

Mikail’s works have been on display in major cities at renowned galleries and exhibitions around the world. For him, contemporary art means freedom, the complete abolition of rules and taboos. When he paints, he can process his feelings, thoughts, and perception of the world – making his art more emotional, and more personal.
